Establishing A Daily Routine
I can't stress enough the importance of creating a systematic and organized daily
routine. Believe me, I'm well aware of the fact that I have much to learn, but the
following has worked extremely well for me. You're welcome to use these ideas, modify
them, or disregard them entirely.
Most of you work other full-time jobs, so it's important that you use the time you spend
on your home-based business wisely. Following is the routine I developed and followed
faithfully for months. Normally, this list of "Things To Do" took me about 2
hours each day, but now that there is software to help you, these things can take a lot
less time. We'll tell you about that in the next section.
I made a promise to myself to do these things every day. If I missed a day, I doubled up
the next day. Consistency leads to success. At the very least, I would sign up one serious
person per week by following this routine. And that's an absolute minimum. Anyway, here
goes ...
1. Check e-mail and respond to inquiries, preferably morning and evening.
2. Post to 10 newsgroups, preferably morning and evening.
3. Post 10 classified ads on the World Wide Web.
4. Submit web site URL to 10 search engines and/or directories.
5. Read something about successful network/online marketing.
6. Share this opportunity with at least 1 "offline" person.
If you can't afford 2 hours a day online, that's fine too. It's quite possible to build a
business in as little as 30-60 minutes a day by doing just the first 3 steps. At the very
least, spend 15 minutes to manage your e-mail every day. I can't stress enough the
importance of a prompt reply.
When a prospect sends you an e-mail, it's because he or she is interested. If it takes you
2 or 3 days to reply, the interest may no longer be there. Often times a person will be
considering several opportunities and being the first to talk with them really makes a big
difference.
Of course, if you have more time on your hands, that's even better. Believe me, you'll
never run out of places to advertise for free. And for the most part, ours is strictly a
numbers game. There are more than enough entrepreneurs out there, its just a matter of
helping them to find you.
There will be times when you'll fall into a slump, and that's when consistency and
perseverance separates the winners from the losers. The number one reason that 98% of
Network Marketers fail to make any money is that they give up much too early. Don't be
another statistic!
