All About Your New Web Site
And Creating Your Own
If you received a new web site from the program you just joined then that new web site
is your salesman that will work for you 24 hours a day, never ask to be paid, and never
call in sick. All you have to do is promote your URL and get as many people as possible to
visit your site. If you do that, it will do all of the "selling" for you.
Spend some time learning about your new web site if you haven't done so already. It would
be a good idea to read every word on each of the pages at least once. This way you'll know
what's covered on the site and what's not. Then if there is a form on your new web site
you'll want to fill out the form to make sure that it works properly. Use the words Test
Ignore for your name in the form fields so that the information sent by the form
is not confused with real sign up information.
By entering your name as Test Ignore and your e-mail address as if you were a prospect,
you'll get to see how the form process works. In some programs, when a prospect fills out
the form on your site, three automated E-mails are sent out. One to you, one to your
upline or webmaster, and one to your prospective customer and/or agent.
You'll also want to test your e-mail contact link on your new web site. Click on the
e-mail link and send a message to your self with Test Ignore as the
subject.
Whenever you receive an e-mail informing you that someone filled out the form on your
site, and telling you what they are interested in you should immediately contact the
person and answer their questions and/or send them your new agent "Welcome"
letter if applicable.
If you didn't receive a new web site from the program you joined with your Independent
Representative ID# and other contact information on it then you can create your own web
site that links to the company's main web site. Please read the iHelp Files section on "How to construct a Web Page", for
information on constructing web pages as well as links to two simple HTML Primers. For
additional help with HTML and constructing your own web pages we recommend that you visit HTML: An Interactive Tutorial for
Beginners, FREE-HELP.COM

Now there are lots of software for both the PC and the Mac that you can use to create your
own web pages without knowing the HTML language. You will find a list of shareware and
freeware HTML Editors (web page creation software) that you can download at Stroud's
CWSApps List site.
For HTML Editors for the PC, go to:
Stroud's 32-bit HTML Editors
or Stroud's 16 -bit HTML
Editors
I use Microsoft's FrontPage 98
to design and manage my web sites. It requires no HTML programming knowledge but is
advanced enough for experienced Web site developers. It has everything you need to design
and build a great-looking, easy to navigate World Wide Web site. It cost about US$98.00
For HTML Editors for the Mac, go to:
Tucows and choose a site within the
continent or region closest to you to ensure faster and more reliable downloads. Then
click on the link that reads "Macintosh - HTML TOOLS - Editors".
If you are a Netscape fan, just get the latest version of Netscape's Communicator
which includes a very good HTML editor, it's really no problem to work with it. Like
FrontPage 98, this is a "WYSIWYG" editor ("WYSIWYG" - means what you
see is what you get) and you need no special knowledge to be able to make your own pages
or to modify existing ones. You can download Communicator for FREE.
Microsoft's Internet Explorer 4.0
can also be downloaded for FREE and it comes packaged with a very good HTML editor called
Front Page Express. Again no special knowledge is required to use this program. It's like
writing in Word and adding from time to time an image or a link. Anyone should be able to
work with this program . It's very easy to use.
Any htm or html file can also be opened and edited in any WORD processor including Notepad
the simplest program that you can use, a program which everyone has on his computer.
Free Web Space
By creating your own web page you can also take advantage of the many opportunities out
there to swap links, display the Link Exchange and other banners, and be a webmaster of a
popular site yourself? When you're ready, you can create your own free web page at XOOM. We recommend that you use XOOM since
there you will get 5BM of free web space plus there is a simple user friendly online web
site creation tool that you can use to create your web page without any HTML programming
knowledge. Below are some additional places where you can get free web space.
You will find many more places offering free web space and other free
stuff at: Free Online
Services.
Even if you get a free web site from the company you represent you can still put up
another web page or web site about some popular topic to bring in traffic. Think of
something that excites you. Are computers your hobby? How about a site of links to
computer information, free software downloads, and your favorite computer sites. Have a
favorite movie star? Put together a list of links to pages about them. Make a page on just
about anything, it's all up to you!
Of course, the first thing you'll want to do if you create a second site is put
a banner at the top of every page that leads to the main program page you really want
to promote. The banners will direct the visitors that come to your second site to your
main program site. If your company does not provide you with banners you can easily create
your own for FREE at the following web sites:
